Administrative Assistant (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Austin, TX

Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Pay: $21.00 - $22.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP following interviews

A Central Texas-based government-affiliated organization is seeking a reliable and professional Administrative Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will provide front-desk and administrative support to a medium-sized division that serves a variety of community-focused programs. This is a high-visibility role requiring excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in office software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and training events, including agendas and materials

  • Prepare procurement documentation and process invoices

  • Perform accurate data entry into databases and tracking systems

  • Manage electronic and paper filing systems in compliance with retention policies

  • Maintain office inventory and order supplies

  • Arrange travel and complete related documentation

  • Respond to public inquiries and route calls appropriately

  • Support special projects and assist in preparing reports, documents, and communications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in administrative support, office coordination, or a similar role

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word

  • Reliable typing speed and attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or certification in business or office administration

  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with shared databases and digital document management

Additional Notes:

  • This position is the first point of contact for the division and requires a welcoming, service-oriented attitude
