Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Millsboro, DE 19966

100% Onsite

Duration: 12 months contract

Job Description:

The Laboratory Technician will support critical laboratory procedures in the production of veterinary products. This role involves working under moderate supervision, handling technical equipment, and executing cell culture processes throughout the manufacturing cycle. The position requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company safety policies.

A. Core Duties (90%)

• Clean and maintain work areas (floors, walls, tables, etc.)
• Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment
• Assist with equipment setup, operation, and maintenance
• Perform aseptic procedures (media preparation, antigen inoculation/harvest, tissue culture, embryo harvest, vaccine filling, etc.)
• Conduct incubation and weighing processes
• Maintain accurate and concurrent records (charts, logbooks, documentation)
• Follow all safety guidelines and demonstrate safe work habits at all times

B. Additional Duties (10%)

• Assist in filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and product inspections
• Train new team members as needed
• Report unusual or non-routine occurrences promptly
• Handle and manage hazardous wastes (after proper training)
• Support non-aseptic procedures (e.g., handling poultry for tissue/waste harvesting)
• Assist in SOP, Production Outline, and Special Outline reviews and updates
• Review production records and enter technical data into systems
• Participate in required training sessions, workshops, and meetings
• Monitor and requisition laboratory supplies

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED with 2–3 years of laboratory experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (fresh graduates accepted)

Quals--

• Important: Resources should not currently live/work on a poultry farm/environment.
• Previous work in a regulated industry.
• Previous work in aseptic clean room production environment experience
• Should have basic lab knowledge; stir plates, pipettes, cylinders
• Preferred: Knowledge/familiarity with work in a hatchery - egg harvesting equipment, egg candling, inoculating chicken eggs
• Resource should have good communication skills
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions
• Able to follow instructions carefully (highly regulated industry) & strong attention to detail Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office applications
• Experience working in a lab/manufacturing facility.

• Must be able to work flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This includes overtime, holidays and weekends.
• Days and hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
• This position may have varying hours based on the needs of the business
• May require a rotating shift Flexibility working overtime is a requirement in manufacturing Travel is not a part of this position
