Position Summary

The Outside Sales / Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing contractor relationships, driving revenue growth, and serving as a trusted partner to customers in the commercial and residential construction market. This role focuses on jobsite visits, account development, project support, and coordinating internally to ensure accurate pricing, on-time delivery, and exceptional service.

This is a relationship-driven role that blends sales execution with account management and project oversight.

Experience:

• Rebar, concrete accessories, masonry, steel, lumber, or related products
• Concrete contractors, GCs, foundation crews, precast, tilt-up, site work
• Understanding takeoffs, bid timelines, submittals, and lead times
• Regular field visits, superintendent and PM relationships
• Not just volume—knows pricing discipline and approval processes

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Management

• Manage and grow a portfolio of contractor, subcontractor, and developer accounts
• Prospect and open new accounts through jobsite visits, referrals, and market outreach
• Maintain regular face-to-face contact with customers (jobsites, offices, lunch-and-learns)
• Identify upcoming projects and secure material supply opportunities early
• Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets

Customer & Project Support

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
• Review project plans and material requirements (rebar, concrete accessories, embeds, etc.)
• Coordinate pricing, lead times, and deliveries with inside sales, scheduling, and operations
• Proactively communicate order status, changes, and potential issues
• Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally

Market & Relationship Development

• Conduct routine jobsite visits to maintain visibility and gather intelligence
• Build relationships with superintendents, project managers, estimators, and owners
• Host or participate in contractor meetings, lunch-and-learns, and industry events
• Monitor competitor activity and market pricing trends

Internal Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with inside sales to ensure accurate quotes and order entry
• Communicate customer forecasts and upcoming demand to operations and inventory teams
• Maintain accurate CRM notes, call reports, and opportunity tracking
• Support credit, collections, and AR management in coordination with accounting
