Role Overview: BOWA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead hospitality, tenant improvement (TI) and other similar construction projects across the Chicago metro area. This position is ideal for a project management professional with strong organizational skills, proven leadership experience, and a solid background in interior renovations, hotel upgrades, restaurant/retail fit-outs, and commercial TI work. You will manage the full project life cycle from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of hospitality and tenant improvement projects
  • Oversee budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management to ensure on-time, in-budget delivery
  • Work closely with architects, designers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project vision and scope
  • Monitor and enforce quality control and safety standards throughout the life of the project
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings, finish schedules, and design specifications
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals
  • Conduct regular site walks and meetings to track progress and address challenges proactively
  • Coordinate project closeout activities including punch lists, occupancy inspections, and turnover packages
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and on-site presence
  • Provide leadership to site teams and encourage a culture of accountability, integrity, and excellence

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in hospitality, commercial interiors, or tenant improvement construction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage fast-paced, detail-driven fit-out and renovation projects
  • Strong understanding of interior construction methods, building systems, and MEP coordination
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools and platforms (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam)
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Chicago area

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience managing projects in active, occupied environments such as hotels, restaurants, or Class A office spaces
  • Knowledge of local Chicago building codes and permit processes
  • Ability to effectively manage subcontractor teams in both union and non-union environments
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a strong asset
  • Creative problem-solver with a high attention to detail and follow-through
