Job Description

Position: Scribe (Part Time)

Pay Rate: $20/hr -$22/hr

Contract Length: 3-4-month contract with potential

Location: North Chelmsford, MA

Office Hours: Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays 7:45am - 4/4:30pm

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to support our physician(s) in providing efficient and high-quality patient care. This role involves shadowing the physician throughout the day, accurately documenting patient encounters in real-time, and ensuring medical records are complete and well-organized. This is an excellent opportunity for pre-medical students or individuals taking a gap year before medical school.
Key Responsibilities:

Accompany the physician during patient consultations, both inpatient and outpatient.

Accurately and efficiently document patient histories, physical exams, assessments, and plans as dictated by the physician.

Update patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in real time.

Assist in tracking laboratory and diagnostic test results.

Help prepare referral letters, discharge summaries, and other clinical documentation.

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all documentation to support billing and coding processes.
Qualifications:

High School diploma, preferably a degree in a pre-medical, biological sciences, or healthcare-related field.

Strong interest in pursuing a career in medicine (ideal for medical school applicants).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Fast and accurate typing ability.

Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.

Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred but not required; training provided).

Prior experience with EMRs (a plus).
