Smart Building Consultant

Base Salary: Up to $180,000
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based candidates only)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role

We're looking for a highly skilled and innovative Smart Building Consultant to join our clients team remotely. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in building automation systems (BAS) who are passionate about leveraging smart technologies to improve building performance, occupant experience, and sustainability.

You'll work directly with clients across commercial real estate, healthcare, education, and other sectors to design and implement cutting-edge smart building solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of smart building strategies for new and existing facilities.
  • Design and integrate solutions involving BAS/BMS, HVAC, lighting controls, energy management, and IoT platforms.
  • Conduct system assessments and recommend improvements for performance, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including engineers, IT, and facility managers.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, KNX, and LonWorks.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in smart buildings and automation.
  • Support pre-sales efforts, including solution design, proposal development, and client presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in building automation systems (BAS/BMS), with hands-on knowledge of system design, integration, and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of smart building technologies, IoT, and data-driven building operations.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements remotely.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • U.S. work authorization required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as LEED AP, WELL AP, CEM, or PMP.
  • Experience with cybersecurity in operational technology (OT) environments.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms and smart building dashboards.
  • Knowledge of U.S. energy codes and sustainability frameworks.
